There wasn’t a winner for Ann & Josh’s glassblowing class so keep your eyes open on our Facebook page for another chance to attend this fascinating class.
GBUK will have a table at Flame Off and as always we need volunteers to run the stand for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will be grateful if anyone going could spare an hour to help out. Please let us know!
Once again we will also be making a limited amount of space available on the stand for members’ beads for sale. These will be taken on a first come, first served basis but anyone volunteering can have their own space (free of charge) to sell beads for the duration of their time on the stand. We will charge £2.50 per ‘slot’, a slot being a square compartment measuring 3 inches square and 1¼ deep. Members may ‘buy’ up to three of these for the duration of the two days.
Beads can be brought straight to Flame Off but the slot would need booking in advance to guarantee your space. Beads need to be tagged with name and price, plus an inventory. To book, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Marshall Hyde will be teaching at Studio 19 on Saturday 23rd March, as a kind of ‘pre-Flame Off warm-up’!
The class is called ‘Designing and Thinking in Glass: Beyond Technique’ or ‘Discover what you already know: How to make the work you always wanted with skills you didn’t know you had’. Definitely something a bit different!
The cost will be a bargain £60. To book a place, please send a £30 deposit to Di, either by paypal to email@example.com or by cheque.
More details can be found on Di’s website: http://www.glass2wear.com/?page_id=561
