I discovered glass lampwork bead making purely by chance, when I bought some glass lampwork beads at a craft fair. I was intrigued with how they were made. Six months later, I had my first lampwork bead lesson with Teresa and Martin at Tuffnell Glass. I’ve been hooked ever since, waiting for my days off work to pursue my new hobby.
I am one of those annoying people who can’t sit still without doing something with my hands. I’ve found lampwork to be a wonderful way to relax from my job as a nurse at a busy hospital. Lampworking allows me to be creative, while forgetting about the stresses of work, at least until my next shift.
